12 Preludes for Piano Vol. 2 was quite a daunting task for me. I knew that I wanted to compose as much music as I could. Every idea that came to mind, I needed to get it on paper, on audio and published. Volume 2 was my second go at creating what I expected to be classic piano works. But now, I realize that these were the first attempt. I'm proud of my work and I'm happy with how it all turned out.
I composed these etudes while I was living in my Los Angeles apartment within eyesight of the concert hall. What a motivating place I was in. That was a time where I realized that I had attained all of the material things that I hoped for as a child. But still, so much was missing. I was depressed and lonely. The only way that I was willing to emote the sadness was through wordless songs.
