Piano Concerto No. 1 was one of my first attempts at creating a full length orchestral arrangement. I had great ideas but no real system for getting my work from my brain to the paper.
Mixing Piano Concerto No. 1
Mixing Piano Concerto No. 1 was very difficult around this time. The work simply required more than just musical creativity. I needed to know more about the capabilities of my DAW, my computer and most importantly, my plugins. Some of them worked well alone, some were not compatible with others. Overall, I just didn’t know my music library well enough to plan the mix and get started. Constantly, I had to stop and bounce the music to see how it sounded. It was too early in my experience to place a sound in the musical environment and have an idea of the product. Nope, it took way too long for me to get a day’s work done with this. However, I never quit.
