Better Call Saul Season 5 Episode 2
I find myself feeling caught up in the street life. That’s how immersive and believable this series is. You can go throw the biggest mood changes because the situations go from very comedic, happy and playful to suspenseful and stressful within minutes. There are so many stories happening at the same time that make a complete book, like a pull and peel Twizzler. However, each strand is easy to remember and easy to follow.

Like Father, Unlike Son
In this episode, we go further into detail with Nacho. He was first introduced as a sinister, untrustworthy character who we didn’t expect to see too much. Now, the story is centered on him. The writers have placed him in a warmer light when his father and their relationship is introduced to us. That is so awesome how they can sway our feelings and judgement like that. At first Nacho was just a criminal, a low-life who we would turn in to the courts immediately. Now, we relate to him and as a result, we empathize with him.

Walky, Talky
Jimmy will try to talk anyone into anything. It gets a bit annoying after while. It seems like he will never pass up the chance to try and change someone’s mind, no matter what it is. This is a challenge that he is unwilling to walk away from. Kim is becoming more stale with Jimmy in conversation. She doesn’t try to counter his arguments and they are both lawyers. She just responds with a dry “ok”. Ouch. What’s happening to her?? What’s happening to them??

Salamanca Stress
Lalo and Hector have created a new type of stressful suspense. Once again, the writers play on my emotional attachment to and rejection from certain characters. At first Lalo is someone I don’t trust and Hector is a bit despicable. But now, Hector can’t talk so Lalo has to figure out what he’s thinking. Oddly enough, I want Lalo to figure it out, solve the mystery. We need to see him figure it out in order to have an idea of where the story will go. More precisely, we may be able to guess at what Fring is gonna do.

Adios Nachito
Lalo doesn’t mind showing how little he cares for Nacho, in front of Nacho’s workers. This makes me think that they might take some part in trapping him in Nacho’s defense. With almost no words, Lalo shows that he doesn’t trust Nacho. At all.

Stuck Up
Jimmy is always pulling a fast one on someone. Is he a lowlife or does my moral compass interfere with my thoughts?? He never settles for running out of avenues. You’re not supposed to drive a Cadillac through the woods.. but you can. Do you want to get out of your current situation or not?? Jimmy shows us how we can take control of our destinies to continue forward in life, making it more interesting. He also shows us how much less we do in our lives because we are so willing to accept defeat at the hands of our own moral inhibitions.
